Labour does it again in the most astounding bout of hypocrisy as people in Hartlepool now question whether Labours just gotten genuinely forgetful, or whether they're genuinely taking the public for fools.
Grannies would have wet their knickers over the latest goof by the Labour Party in Hartlepool following a post published on social media yesterday claiming that a number of Independent Councillors had supposedly joined the Conservative group in a bid to shore up political support following claims the coalition on Hartlepool Borough Council is beginning to crumble.
Labour, had it employed a fully competent secretary & local party chairman could have seemingly just rode it out & kept quiet, allowing its chance in May 2023 to effectively wipe out any majority the Tory / Indi group had on the council, which would have likely seen Labour potentially gaining a valuable foothold on the local council if it managed to just sway one or two independents to join them in their numbers for political support, however in one of the most laughable moments of hypocrisy possible, they chose to have a dig at the councillors who were supposed to have allegedly aligned their political support to the tory / Indi coalition on Hartlepool Council by claiming that those elected members should “have a say” if councillors change their political colours mid term.
The comments on Labours social media post were somewhat "laughable" if they weren't actually so serious...
Tom Cassidy now a conservative councillor (left), former councillor Barbara Ward Hartlepool Independent Union (Middle) & (right) Bob Buchan now also a Tory Councillor pictured here when they were campaigning under the Brexit Party in 2019....
This would have actually been a valid point & to be fair, its a point thats been raised by many members of the local community, particularly when Hartlepool seen the same sh!tty political shenanigans undertaken by the Hartlepool Independent Union, aided on by other independents when they all joined the Brexit Party as it became then the latest bandwagon to jump onto, but then wasn't to be.
Nevertheless, Labour again taking the public for idiots & likely insulting the intelligence of thousands of Hartlepool voters completely failed to remember that in May 2022, former Independent Councillor Ged Hall crossed the political floor to rejoin the Labour Party, a party he left several years ago to become an independent & Labour never uttered a word about the public having their say over whether Mr Hall seemingly elected in the towns Burn Valley ward only then very recently as an Independent should be subject to another By-Election because he suddenly decided to change his flag colours.
Its sadly not the first political bout of hypocrisy the Labour party in Hartlepool has suffered in the last couple of weeks & is reinforcing the notion by some that in what's probably one of Labours best opportunities its had since its disastrous election defeat in Hartlepool losing both the council & the parliamentary constituency seat, its claimed Labours inherent desperation to try and retain political control of HBC is making the party increasingly desperate to undertake anything it possibly can do to win support ...... & at any cost.....
Jonathan Brash, Labours political candidate to stand against the towns Conservative MP recently sent the internet into a roar of laughter when the Daily Mail published a story claiming the Labour councillor for Hartlepool whilst being a teacher for a private school some 12 miles away in Yarm, Stockton On Tees. Mr Brash then sought to criticise private schools who managed to obtain favourable VAT status, allowing them to receive generous tax incentives..... a criticism that no doubt upset his bosses at the school he works for in the process.....
It didn't stop there though, Labours campaign no appears to focus on the local hospital, a situation which seen Labour effectively "give up" on the saving of Hartlepool's general hospital when documents were unearthed that Mr Brash who himself was a serving councillor at the time responded to a question from another hartlepool councillor where it was publicly stated on record that Labours Mr Brash had conceded that the fight for Hartlepool Hospital "was over"........
This latest political stunt of hypocrisy has reportedly in turn sent many potential Labour supporters again steering well away from the political group who are now suspecting that the party that supposedly changed its ways has in fact not changed a single bit....
And its just as bad as it was.... if not worse than before....
