Labour activists were again out this weekend ahead of the local council elections set to be held in May with its doorstep campaign highlighting increasing concerns over the areas alarming levels of Anti Social Behaviour.
In a post published to the Labour Groups social media page this afternoon, Labours candidate to stand as MP for Hartlepool says he will be working with both councillors elected to the Manor House ward as well as The Hartlepool Neighbourhood policing team in a bid to tackle the issues in the area.
In addition to Labour activists campaigning around the Manor House area of the town, its said that campaigners were also out & about in the towns Hart ward where its claimed Labour campaigners were met with a “great response”.
Labours election campaign kicked off some weeks ago, ahead of local council elections set to be held in May which could potentially tip the political scales of power of Hartlepool Borough Council in any direction, following claims Labour is quietly regaining the ground in areas they once seen devastating losses some three years ago.
It reportedly prompted councillors on the current Conservative / Independent coalition on Hartlepool Borough Council to bolster their support with two further independents to their coalition group, following concerns Labours increasing support could potentially pose a threat to the stability of the coalition come May 2023, with the vast majority of the councils political future now resting on a number of controversial decisions still yet to be made by the majority ruling coalition on the local council that in the next few weeks will likely agree to controversially set the new rate of council tax for Hartlepool households significantly higher than residents previously thought at 4.9%. Not to mention £1.7 Million Pounds worth of spending cuts still yet to be agreed in a bid to tackle millions of pounds worth of budget deficits caused by years of disastrous financial decisions undertaken by the councils failed Chief finance officer.
Local elections this year are set to be held on the 4th May 2023, where a number of changes brought in by Westminster will mean voters will now need to provide ID should they wish to vote at a local polling station.
Residents in Hartlepool this year again will see a one third of the councils seats come up for election in May 2023 in what many believe will either be the "make or break" season for the councils independent conservative coalition group, where should Labour make significant gains, it could eventually spell the end of the coalition.

Litter picking and tree planting in manor house with the team. The labour party still don't seem to know what is needed in manor house. Such as the parking problems. With a lot of the roads being unaccesable to emergency vehicles such as fire engines at night. Reform uk campaigned last year to have the kerbs lowered and the grass verges terraced. As a solution. The answer from one labour councillor was to fine every one choosing to park on the verge labour councillors have neglected manor house for decades becaus…
