Friday 2nd December 2022

Struggling to receive a parcel from Evri / Hermes ?, Have you received notification that your item scheduled for delivery has been delayed ?, well this might be reason why.......

Thousands of unhappy customers are said to be reporting significant delays in parcels delivered to their homes following a national backlog at distribution centres across the whole of the country...

Evri, Formally known as Hermes has reportedly been inundated with customer complaints after huge backlogs of parcels has left many of its warehouses across the country so full that packages are now being left outside to the elements as space runs out...

In addition to the increased delays in recipients waiting for parcels, some of whom have reportedly been waiting for weeks for items to arrive, its claimed some customers who've been lucky enough to receive their parcels have seen items arrive so badly damaged that claims are now having to be logged for compensation...

Nationally, its claimed Evri recently had to apologise to customers in the BD4 area after one of its national distribution sites in Bradford was backlogged to the rafters with undelivered parcels, in what the firm claimed was caused by significant "staffing issues" & the closure of a main road servicing the main distribution centre.

However recently, its been claimed that Evri has reportedly been taking on a significant amount of Royal Mail's backlogged parcels for delivery following their continued strike action with bosses over pay, with businesses now said to be shunning the Royal Mail service opting for Evri's courier service in order to try & maintain order levels to ensure their business remains relatively unaffected by Royal Mails strike action

One driver claimed backlog could take until January 2023 to clear. with parcels being left outside.....

This in turn has resulted in Evri's staffing numbers (many of them self employed drivers) reportedly being unable to meet the sheer unprecedented demand, with one source claiming to be an Evri Driver at a depot in Bradford claiming that bosses reportedly let slip that the backlog of parcels left in distribution centres could potentially take until well into the new year to clear.

Bosses representing Evri rubbished this claim yesterday in an official statement saying that the claims were “nonsense” & that customers could expect to see normal services be resumed in about 1-2 weeks...

However the news comes as little comfort to many who've embraced the notion of online shopping to pay for the upcoming Christmas prezzies, with Black Friday sales on top of industrial Action by royal mail all said to have lumbered other courier services with similar unprecedented demand, leading to what many claim will be those who've paid for items expecting them for before Christmas left somewhat disappointed, in that customers may expect their item to be sent out substantially delayed, or potentially damaged, with some photos of some parcels taken by those who've finally received their items after a significant delay looking like they've been had a go with by a five aside football team.
