A Hartlepool Councillor has landed himself in hot water after a veiled reference to a former WWII leader has led to an official complaint being submitted to the councils monitoring Officer.

HBC Leader Shane Moore is coming under pressure to apologise for the remarks made on Social Media

Leader of Hartlepool Borough Council Cllr Shane Moore is facing calls to stand down from his role as leader of the controversial borough council thats also reportedly at the centre of a proposed No Confidence petition from members of the public over its management & governance.

The Conservative Councillor (who sits as an Independent) reportedly made the reference in response to a video of the councils full meeting last month where councillors were discussing the boroughs impending council tax increase where councillors voted to increase household bils by nearly 5% for April 2023.

Cllr Moors made reference to the WWII Nazi Leader Adolf Hitler making reference to Labour councillors supposedly like Adolf Hitler, "not working for the people"....

But Cllr Moore sparked controversy claiming that he'd watched videos of a not so good Austrian Painter who was supposedly working for the people, only not to be....... with Cllr Moore reportedly making a veiled reference to the WWII Nazi Leader Adolf Hitler sparking widespread condemnation of his comments by the opposition Labour Party.

Cllr Moore faced his second Drink Driving ban in 2017 with claims he narrowly avoided jail time for his second vehicle offense.....

Its fuelled calls for the controversial Hartlepool Councillor leader who's been twice convicted of Driving whilst under the influence of Alcohol to apologise for the remarks or stand down from his role as leader of the local council with many calling the comments “out of order” for that of someone who is the political head of the local borough council.

Labour Councillor for Throston Cameron Sharp who slammed the councillors comments as 'immature'....

Labour Cllr Cameron Sharp in response to the social media post said he was 'shocked' and 'appalled' at Councillor Moore’s comments seemingly comparing myself and my colleagues to Adolf Hitler following our passionate speeches against his council’s tax rises.

Once again, Cllr Moore has demonstrated that he lacks the ability, maturity and empathy required of an elected representative.

It is my view that he should be apologising to those affected by Nazi persecution, especially those who still grieve, still remember, and still suffer. Anything less simply is not good enough, especially from a so called leader of the council.

Another nail in the coffin for the Tory / Indi Coalition when the May elections are held....

Public support of the Cons / Independent Coaliiton is falling, with the May elections likley to see Cllr Moore's leadership come to a swift end....

The latest incident is said not to have bestowed much confidence in member of the public to continue to back the current Conservative / Independent coalition that currently holds the majority numbers within Hartlepool Borough Council following claims this years local council elections will see heavy losses for the coalition group, with the Labour Party poised to see significant gains in some council wards that many claim will destabalize the coalition group to such an extent that Labour could be effectively handed the keys of power at Hartlepool Borough Council shortly after the May elections have concluded, with Cllr Moore very unlikely to retain his position as leader as public support of the coalition following the latest round of council spending cuts & council tax increases sees the coaliitons popularity plunge.
