According to official reports from the Food Standards Agency through inspections carried out by Hartlepool Borough Council, the Headland Local Shop, King Oswy Café & The Galleries located in the towns Middleton Grange Shopping Centre all received the lowest ratings of food hygiene ratings when they were inspected in 2022, with one establishment reportedly rated just two months ago in December 2022.
All three businesses were told that they must make significant improvements in order to see any change in future inspections yielding better ratings, with the management food safety & general cleanliness all said to be “poor” when council inspectors visited all three establishments.
Fortunately no establishment in Hartlepool received the dreaded ZERO rating onto which would likely result in action being taken by the local council to see significant improvements undertaken there & then or where necessary closure orders being imposed in the interests of public safety.
Over 100 establishments within the town received the highest 5 rating with claims the number of businesses receiving a full 5 rating is increasing.
